Like other municipalities, Breda municipality plays an important role in the energy transition. The ambition is high and the timeframe is limited. A crucial factor in the success of plans and collaborations is that residents are included in the plans. After all, this is about their houses, their homes. The question here is: how do we motivate those residents to take action?
Motivation and obstacles
Forum conducted qualitative research among homeowners for the Municipality of Breda. Using associative techniques, we mapped out the obstacles and (subconscious) motives among residents for participating or not participating in the energy transition. Our analysis focused on consensus: what connects residents? What elements are at play among a large majority of people? And what can the Municipality of Breda do to make the energy transition a success with a targeted approach?
